The Western red cedar wood is not a species of cedar trees - its a Thuja plicata and called as cedar through the aromatic smell. Natural location is the west Coast of North America. As so often, unfortunately, here and also on tribal area exploitation is operated. For every tenth flute which I build I plant here a little Red Cedar tree. To preserve the naturalness of the wood i treat my pure hand-carved flutes only with Oil. Each flute is individually made with much love and experience. So each flute is different and unique. |
